have tried to connect my pc to my tv using a vga to s-video adaptor then s-video to scart adaptor but it doesnt seem to be working. something must be right because when the tv is on av it is picking something up but just looks like its slightly out of tune and in black and white (but its not). apparently my graphics card supports video out any ideas would be grateful thanks ps. this is first time in a forum so sorry if this message comes up in the totally wrong place thanks again

Ok very common problem the Svhs signal needs to be syncronised properly.

The scart adaptor will only be Composite so in order for it to work you need to sync the Svhs signal to composite within the scart output.

Depending where you live, simply go to any hi-fi shop or similar and simply tell them the problem. They should offer you a S-vhs to composite adaptor if they know what they are doing. Tell them you need to connect your svhs signal to tv via a scart lead but all you get is monochrome picture with wavey lines going across the screen.

Also look throught your tv setup screen make sure the TV does support svhs video ;)

Or you can get it here http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=28733&TabID=1&source=15&WorldID=&doy=18m2

Just a word this is the adaptor for the 4 Pin only S-vhs plug not 6 pin ^^^^

Or here for adaptors built into scart http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=s-vhs adaptor&doy=11m10&source=15
