Can't capture from video device

I have my VCR hooked up to my computer via my TV tuner card with composite
inputs. When I click on Capture from video device in Movie Maker, at first it
worked for 20-30 minutes, so I could record that much. After about that
amount of time, my computer would crash and have a Windows blue screen error
stating that "Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer".
Now it does this abter about 5-10 minutes. If Movie Maker is just running by
itself and not capturing any video, it works fine; it's only while the
capture from video device thing is running. My card's drivers are up to date,
as is Movie Maker. Any suggestions?

Absolute nonsense! If it was a virus the PC would display
a whole heap of problems, not just in WMM.
And of course a good uptodate anti-virus would fix it!
The probable cause is the system is under stress.
Close any other running applications.
Specifically those detailed in system tray
Hold down keys: Ctrl+Alt +Del
This will produce Task Manager.
"End Task" on hidden running applications
On lower row of Task Manager it will detail
CPU usuage in %
Don't pay any attention to "chun" and his dubious advice!
