I made a movie using window's movie maker, (using JVC digital camera) When
trying to burn the movie onto a DVD (to be able to view using DVD player)
using Nero 6 software I am getting the errror messesage "Nero 6 doesn't
recognise the file format .wmv"

Has anyone managed to burn a DVD using the above softwares? Any clues?

Thanks for your help

Hi antoine,

You may want to try this free utility, it seems to be able to burn wmv
files to DVD. Good luck!

Sounds like you're using Nero Burning Rom, and choosing the DVD movie
format. This is for the file structure used for DVD movies, of which *.wmv
files are not part of that structure.

Examine any commercial DVD movie for that folder and file structure in
windows explorer. You'll find them quite uniform. Nero is looking for a
format like this to copy from. If strictly for PC use, use the data format
selection in Nero. This will simply burn the *.wmv files like any other
data.

Am using Ulead VideoStudio for raw video conversion, and DVD style file
creation from my JVC digital camcorder. The last 3 versions of VS don't
require another burner program, its built-in for DVD movie style burning.
Final product should play on your home DVD player as well.
