Can't boot up on "C" drive

I downloaded windows service pack 1 and windows had many
errors and programs wouldn't work. I did a system
recovery because restore wouldn't fix the problem and now
my computer will only work from the "D" recovery drive.
How can I fix this problem and boot up in "C" again.
Thanks!

Sherry, using the WinXP CD start over and choose NEW INSTALL>Advanced.
This will let you choose which partition
to install WinXP on. Once you have XP on the C: then you can delete all
the XP Folders on the D: Usually just the Windows Folder and Document and
Settings.

My XP didn't come with an install CD. According to the
help section, that is why their suggesting using
their "recovery instructions" which is why I now boot up
in "D - Recovery" mode. I still have all of my files
on "C" drive because I can use them, but I can no longer
add any hardware or software. I am sign in as "guest in
D" and not administrator. Any other suggestions?
