Can't add win2K Wkstns to win2k server domain

P

Pete Foster

After performing Win 2K server upgrade from Win NT 4, and
then after turning on DNS, can't get Win 2K workstations
to log on to domain. Did get Win XP Pro wkstations and
Win 98 and 98 SE stations to log on. Keep getting error
about "invalid parameter" or "invalid path" when I try to
join the domain using the domain admin user and pw from
wkstation. Wkstations do not show up under "computers"

Had trouble adding Win XP wkstns, but they do log on and
appear under "computers" now after persistance repeatidly
trying to enroll in domain.

Server only has TCP/Ip protocol, no netBeui.

It is still probably a DNS issue. Can you sucessfully resolve server name
using nslookup from workstation ? When joining to the domain, you can try
and use DNS domain name instead of NetBIOS domain name. You could post your
ipconfig /all from the workstation.
