Can't Access Web Site

Hi Gang:

After my Sony laptop had some work done I can't access
foodnetwork.com. I can access other web sites, and I can
access foodnetwork on my three other computers on my home
network. Any ideas? I have a cable modem and a Linksys
four port router. I am accessing the web via a cable on
the notebook.

Thanks,
Steve

First go into Internet Explorer to the General Tab of
Internet Options and delete temporary Internet files,
cookies and clear the history list. Check to see if you
can reach the web site. If you still can't get there
check your hosts file for the name of the web site you
can't get on. If you find the name there remove it. Try
to access the page again. If you still can't get there
then disable or remove any 3rd party software you have
installed to speed up your internet connection. Download
and run Spybot to remove spyware and adware. Make sure
you are running the latest patches for Internet Explorer.

Hi Gang:

I tried all this. Didn't work. It's trying to open the
page in Netscape. I reset my internet explorer settings,
but that didn't work either.

Thanks,
Steve

No. I still can't get there. I only get five green bars
in the graph on the bottom right of the page and a blank
white page. I don't even get the "page can't be
displayed" page. It just continues to run but no luck.

Are you running any kind of popup blocker software? Also, change all your
Internet options to defaults and clean out cached pages while you're in
there:

Tools>> Internet options
General Tab - Delete Cookies, Delete Files (all offline content)
Security Tab - Default Level
Advanced Tab - Restore Defaults
Apply>> OK

Hi:

I've changed all my settings to default, and I'm not
running any pop-up blocker.
