Can't access web page files

Hello. I have reformatted my hard drive and re-installed my original Frontpage 97 and the upgrade of Frontpage 2002. Prior to reformatting, I saved my web page files to CD. After opening Frontpage and clicking on File, then Open Web, I can navigate to my web file and the pages contained in it, but it won't let me open any of the files (pages). It get the following message, whenever I click on any page name - "Server Error - The server extensions were unable to access the file "m:\My Webs\Webname\_vti_pvt\service.lck." Check the file permissions" This happens with both web files that I saved to CD.

Any ideas?

Can I offer this suggestion in the hope that it is right. It once happened
to me a long time ago.

When you save to a subsequently bring files back from a CD the file
attributes are changed to Read Only. Therefore, FP cannot edit it. You can
either changs its properties to Archive or delete it. I think FP will create
another. It is safe to delete.

I hope this resolves your probelm.

The files are marked as Read only
when they are burned to the CD
You must copy them back to your machine
and change them back to
Archive from Read only.

You can use
CROA - Clear Read-Only Attributes
http://www.davidcrowell.com/croa.html
CROA is a handy utility that will clear the read-only bit of all subfolders and files in a
specific folder. This is extremely useful after copying the contents of a CD to your hard
drive.
