Can't access any programs tied to old username

I managed to get a serious infection, i.e. a couple trojans, several worms,
and a bunch of spyware, malware, and adware. After running a couple programs
to delete these problems, Windows XP wouldn't start up. I tried to repair
with my Windows installation disk, but it wasn't able to do so. I ended up
doing a reinstall to get my computer to start. I lost all my bookmarks,
favorites, passwords, cookies, yada yada. When I did the reinstall, Windows
gave me a new user name by combining my full name with the name I gave the
computer. I was able to recover some of my data by copying from files stored
under my old user name, but when I start any of my MS Office programs, I get
a message saying they haven't been installed for the current user. How can I
get them back without re-installing MS Office for my new user name? I have
MS Office XP Pro (academic version). Any ideas for bringing everything back
to the way it was would be gratefully received.
