pete

I wonder if some kind person can Help me.
When I Print Text In Draft Mode I get Missing letters , gaps in
lines ,and lines half printed.
If I print the same text in High Quality Mode It Is Perfect.
Printing of Pictures is Perfect.
Nozzle check Is Perfect.
All Cleaning Procedures have been Done.
Problem 2:
I get a message window coming up saying "Waste Ink Absorber Nearly
full". What action do I need to take .
Thanks in Advance
Pete

the 1500 is one of canons worst printers and is not worth fixing. you
can buy a canon ip4200 for $79.95 at frys. that is a terrific deal. be
sure to use oem ink for best results and few if any problems.

Pete, I had the same error message on my ip 1500 about a month ago and
posted on here. Look up my long thread on the subject and advice I got
from many people here. You'd probably have to look up the thread on
google though. When that message comes up, it usually means the printer
will eventually become disabled. I was able to re-set my ip 1500 which
stops it from being disabled, but the problem is still there and how
long it will last is not known.

What I did in the end was phone Canon as I had a couple of weeks left on
my warranty with them. They first sent me a printhead since that was a
problem also, then a week later sent me a refurb ip 1500 which so far
seems to work OK. I still have a year left with Staples extended
warranty if something happens to the refurb unit, but I don't see any
printer right now that I want. Do you have any warranty left with Canon
for your printer? I am in Canada, so don't know what Canon on the UK
would be like to deal with, but I found them to be quite good to deall
with. I had my ip 1500 a year and though that is not very long, it
worked fine during that time, but probably good to get an extended
warranty when buying this printer.

go buy a canon ip4200 or a canon ip5200.
