Canon: ip4200 vs ip4300.

Hi,

Referring to previous posts on this thread, I have had an e. mail from Canon
saying that the differences between their ip4200 and (September-released
(UK)) ip4300 printers is that the ip4300 has a higher printing speed and
more driver (software) options with regard to media types.

They advised me of this link for information:
http://www.canon.co.uk/For_Home/Pro...ex.asp?ComponentID=25152&SourcePageID=25108#2
(haven't looked at this yet).

Hope this helps anyone considering whether to buy the current ip4200 or the
new (UK) ip4300.

Yours,
Gary Hayward.

What they did not tell you is that the IP4300 now has almost the same
specifications as the IP5200. That leaves me to speculate that the next
rev (if there is one) of the IP5300 will be a replacement for the IP8500.

I'm sure someone appricates the info.

However.... at present, on amazon.co.uk... the ip5200 is selling for
£62.50, just a few quid more than the ip4200, and well, similar specs
to the ip4300. So unless someone says the ip4300 is absolutly better,
supports paper types you need, or is in any way shape or form what you
desire.... at present the ip5200 is safe investement.
