Canon i850 paper print size and Mac OS X

Steve K.

I was wondering if somone out there could give me some help.

I have a Canon i850 printer and a Mac running Mac OS X 10.2.6 Jaguar. I
bought some large 13"x19" paper because I need to print an image loner
than the regular 8.5"x11".

I cut out a sheet that is 8.5"x13". I set a custom size page up in the
page attributes. All seemed well at this point. The image is 12.2"
long so there should be plent of room. I tested making a PDF and the
image was centered and showed up properly in the PDF. So I decide to
then try and print the image. The printer completly cut off about 2
inches at the beginning of the print. This also left a lot of empty
spaace on the other side of the print. Why did this happen? Is there
some sort of offset I need to set up? That's what it seems like. The
image was not centered on the page. It lloks offset.

Please let me know if you have any tips on getting this to work properly.

best regards,

Steve

First question, why wouldn't you just use the standard 8.5x14 paper?

Aside from that, we need a lot more info...

What were the custom size settings?

What size settings were used to create the PDF?

Which program did you use to print the file?

What settings did you use in that program?

When printing, did you set scaling or "fit-to-page" settings?

Have you tried printing on 8.5x14?

Maybe the printer did not save the settings you made for the PDF print and
it defaulted to a standard paper size. Check your custom settings on every
print. Just my 2cents.
