Canon BJC-250: garbled print!

Hi -- Please can someone help me? I have an IBM Thinkpad
T40 running Windows XP Professional. I added my Canon
Bubble-Jet BJC-250 printer. When I try to print from Word
2000 or Outlook Express, I get hieroglyphics --
unreadable rows of gobbledygook. I've reinstalled the
Canon driver for Windows XP, I've used Word 2000 help,
I've done everything the help menus say to, but cannot
print. . . . One sad pup here, because my new
telecommuting contract job starts this afternoon and I
have to be able to print. Thanks to anyone out there.

Hi Sparky,
If you are getting garbled print, there may be a problem
with the printer driver. Try installing a generic
printer driver such as the HP Laserjet II and see if that
works. If not, you may want to download a driver
specifically from Canon for that printer.
