Cannt access xp home via network

The XP home box can ping and map drives by IP on the
network and accesses the Internet. XP box cannot ping by
name to the other boxes on the network. Also, I can add
the XP box to the workgroup but if I try to browse the
workgroup on the XP Home box, I receive a message that
this box does not have permissions to the workgroup. This
is a per to per network that does not have a server. The
other boxes can access each other by name and IP, but not
to the XP Home box. The XP Home box shows up in the
workgroup browsing from other boxes on the network, but
gives message that they do not have permissions to this
box. All boxes have unique computer names and the same
DNS, Gateway and subnet mask IP addresses.

I have researched this and others have this issue but
could not find a solution.
