Cannot Use The START Button

R

Rhonda

One of our computers suddenly stopped working properly.
We've done virus scans and found a bunch :(
In the process of trying to clean them off, we've run
into a problem with the START button.

The mouse can move and click items on the desktop, but
when it goes to the Task Bar, it is an "hourglass" and
will not let us click the Start button or anything else
down there.

We have done Ctrl-Alt-Del to see what is running in the
background.

The Programs list is blank! - Nothing running ???

The Processes list has a bunch of things in it.

How can we stop whatever is going on in the background so
we can use our START button and Task Bar again? It's
been like this for three days :(

You're still infected. Try searching your antivirus web site or Symantec for
help. If you can't figure this out, you're in for a reformat and reinstall.
