cannot use ctrl + backspace in word

I am using word 2003 under XP.
Before, I could use ctrl+backspace in word, but now I cannot...
Now, I can still use this shortcut in powerpoint and other shortcuts in word.

Perhaps you have lost the key customization.

From the Menu ...
Select Tools > Customize
Click on Keyboard
In the left hand bos - Categories - scrol down and select All Commands
In the right hand box - Commands - scroll down and select DeleteBackWord
Put your cursor in the Press new shortcut key box
Press Ctrl+BackSpace
Click on Assign
Click on Close
Click on Close
