When I reinstall my Windows 2000, I wrongly run the old version of
MicrosoftAntiSpywareInstall.exe that suppose to be expired. A message box
prompted me the software cannot be run, then I downloaded the latest version
and completed the installation. I can see the icon running in the taskbar,
but when I select open the application, I got no response. I have try to
uninstall and reboot the PC and reinstall the applicaion, but no help. Anyone
can help me?

You can repair Windows AntiSpyware using Add or Remove Programs in Control
Panel. Click Microsoft AntiSpyware and click Change. Click Next, and then
click Update.

If the problem persist, what you can do is uninstall MSAS, delete the
Programs File folder for MSAS C:\Program Files\Microsoft AntiSpyware,
restart the machine and install to a non-default location such as c:\msas

Hello Dan,

you may try this:

look in the folder:
c:\WINDOWS\Installer\
for the file: gcasSWUpdater.exe
delete the folder with the 3 files in there and do a new install.
Workt for me with a other install problem.
