cannot setup home network between XP Pro and 2000 Pro

I have a company laptop with 2000 Pro. Connected to net
via WiFi. Logging onto a corporate domain at windows
start (called DOMAIN).

I have a desktop with XP Pro. Connected to net via
hardwire to same wireless router as laptop. Both are
sharing a cable modem connection to net.

I want to create a home network to share files etc. on
both machines. Until now I have been doing this with
Netmeeting - this has been a real pain in the hole.
Using the network wizard on XP I choose the "use XP CD"
option (no floppy on either machine). 2000Pro machine
tells me this function only works on 98, ME, etc but not
on 2000.

I suppose someone will tell me to remove my 2000Pro
machine from DOMAIN and log it into the same workgroup as
the XP Pro machine. Problem is, when I go into the
office, I need to be on DOMAIN to access any company
network resources. Need a sysadmin password to get
myself back on DOMAIN - which I don't have. Or maybe I'm
missing something?

Thanks,
Barry

You can share files without unjoining the machine from the domain. Try
getting the non-domain machine to connect to the domain machine first as the
permissions will be easier to get right.
