Please Help!
I have a new HP computer (bought in December 2007) with Windows Vista and I
have not had any trouble with it until now.
On Sunday (2 days ago), Windows Update automatically downloaded a critical
SP1 update to my computer.
Since then, I cannot send emails from Windows Mail.
I can receive them IF I go under tools and click "RECEIVE ALL" manually.
If I send a test message to myself, it USUALLY goes through, but NO replies
go through.
I contacted my cable provider/ISP and they have determined that the problem
is not on their end. They believe that the update has caused some kind of
incompatibility with my currently running programs.
I have Webroot Spy Sweeper and Trend Micro Antivirus installed and running
on my computer.
They were both installed and configured by Geek Squad on the day I purchased
the computer and I have not had trouble with them until now.
Like others here, I keep getting an error message that my server has
terminated the connection:
error:
Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Subject 'Re: Coffee with Karen Thursday night maybe..', Account:
'pop.east.cox.net', Server: 'smtp.east.cox.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F
And the message stays in my Outbox folder until I delete it.
Any ideas??
