Cannot see SATA or IDE drives

I have had to reinstall Windows due the computer getting painfully slow, I am
using 2 x Maxtor 120g drives as a SATA raid array, prior to reinstalling I
backed up to an existing 120g IDE Maxtor drive then to be sure bought a WD
SATA 250g drive and backed up to this as well, I could see both these back
up drives prior to the install now I cannot see either of them, they appear
in the BIOS I can see the WD in the post screen but when I look in My
Computer I can only see the C Raid drive I have looked in Divice Manager and
can see the IDE drive but not the SATA in disc management I can see the IDE
but it is greyed out and I cannot asign a drive letter.
I have important info on these drives so the option of deleting the
partition on the drive I can see is not on. any ideas?

If you run a intel based RAID controller, download & install 1st the chipset
installation utility for that exact type of board (compare to intels boards
with
same chipset, etc),then download and install MATRIX storage utility, make
sure youre controller is listed....Otherwise,open cmd,in cmd type:DiskPart
In DiskPart type:list disk Type:list volume Type:HELP for all cmds

I have opened cmd and done as you suggested, it lists all the disks in
diskpart/list disk but when I enter list volume it only shows the raid array
and cd roms, I have an ASUS A8V with an AMD 3200+ 64 processor
