Cannot see PC on Network

Hi

I have 5 PC's connected on a network Via a Netgear modem router. I can see
all but one of the PC's on the network. All the PC's are running Windows XP
home eddition SP2.

This PC can access the internet and can see the other PC's itself.

I have Mcafee anti virus installed but no Fire wall this is covered by the
hardware firewall on the Netgear router. I am guessing that it is a simple
setup or access problem but being a novice cannot figure out what it would be.

Any help would be grateful

Can you ping the problem pc by IP? if not, make sure no any firewall blocks the access.

Neil,

One of the most common causes of this problem would be a misconfigured or
overlooked personal firewall, or other security component. McAfee AV may have
an antiworm component that could cause this problem. There are several other
possibilities too, and any might be the cause of your problem. Read this article
with an open mind.

For more direct help, lets look at "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from
the problem computer, and from 2 of the working computers, so we can diagnose
the problem. Read this article, and linked articles, and follow instructions
precisely (download browstat!):

Please let us know if any of these suggestions are of any help. What you learn
may help others in the future, and that's the purpose of these forums.
