cannot save my movie in avi

Hello all,
I have a problem saving my finished movie on a avi format. After 15% off
saving time I get a message telling me that moviemaker cannot save the file
for either these reasons:
-not enough hardisk
- that some files are maybe missing
- that maybe the hard disk have partitions that dont have enough space.

I checked all these 3 options and they seem okay. My hard disk space is over
100 gigabites and I have no partions. The hard disk is in NTFS mode.

I had no problem transferring my tapes from the camera to the hard disk in
avi-format.

The finished movie is not more then 6 minutes. I can save it in all other
formats then avi - anyone got a clue what I could do?
Thanks in advance for help!

Oh! I forgot to write that I have used a lot of transtions and done a lot of
still pictures from the movie, saved as jpg.

There's a couple different possibilities.
One is that JPG files sometimes cause problems in WMM, it is best to convert
them to BMP files.
Two is that the project is too complex with too many transitions and/or
effects. To work around that problem delete the 2nd half of the project and
then save that project under a new filename then create the first half of
your movie. Now open the original project again and delete the first half
and save that under a new filename then render the 2nd half of the movie.
Now import the 2 newly created clips and drag them to the timeline to create
your finished movie.
Since the transitions are no longer seen as transitions in WMM but instead
as motion video your project is no longer so complex and therefore can be
rendered easily.
The only reason I say to save the project files separately is in case you
make a mistake and need to go back.
