Cannot save large video clips to FireWire external Drive

I have a 160GB Firewire external HDD.

When I try to copy a large (over 12GB) video clip to it I get a disk full
error.
This is an Adobe Premier clip, save in windows format that I intend to take
from my church to my home for editing. All of the other files for the same
premier pro. project copied to the drive, but the main video clip errored out
for disk space. The drive was empty except for a few megs of project support
files.

I noticed that the file folder that I was copying to, show read-only. I have
seen on other threads that this is a normal condition and I should not be
concerned.

So what else it up?????

This was answered last night. You would have had better luck finding it if you
used a real newsreader instead of the MS web interface. You need to format your
external drive using NTFS to avoid the 4GB limit of FAT32.

Thanks, I will try that this evening. BTW what is a real news reader? Do I
just load one or what?

Then convert the external to ntfs to handle the large files. ie your
external HDD is in FAT32.
