Cannot resume Windows from Hibernate

I cannot resume my laptop from hibernate because I swapped the RAM out while
the computer was hibernating. (I had 1GB and now have 512MB). Is there any
way to tell the computer to boot normally (without trying to resume from the
hibernate state).
I can boot into the recovery console, but didn't know quite what to do when
I was in there.
Thanks if advance if anyone is able to help.

There might be a BIOS setting.

From the recovery console, I think you want to find the hibernate file
(in the root of C:, I think) and delete it.

The hibernate file contains a dump of that original 1GB of RAM. When
you boot your computer now, the OS finds that and tries to load all of
that data into your current 512MB. It doesn't fit. If it doesn't find
that file, it will boot normally.
