Cannot restore

After reinstalling XP Home, I received an error
message "rstrui.exe - entry point not found". I was able
to bypass and the system started okay. I then attempted
System Restore, but received this message - "the
procedure entry point Remote Assistance Prepare System
could not be located in the dynamic link library
WINSTA.DLL.

Also
had the same problem when I tried to repair my Windows XP operating
system. After booting my system with the system disk I tried to repair my
system files. Keep in mind once that is done all XP updates are removed.
After repairing I removed the disk and rebooted my pc thinking all would be
fine. What I found was I could no longer access System Restore. To solve my
problem I reinstalled Windows XP Service Pack 1. That resolved my "System
Restore" problem.
