cannot renew IP

My windows XP machine cannot get an ip from the DHCP
server. It was working perfectly fine before but has
suddenly stopped renewing. Repair operation fails saying
it cannot renew the IP or communicate with the DHCP. All
other machines running on the same network renew with no
problems. I've tried checking the cable and NIC and
they're fine. All firewalls, etc. are turned off and
still it does not work. I am completely lost. Please
help!

Hi Olen,

If you statically configure the XP client with and IP address on the same
subnet as the DHCP server can you ping the DHCP server?
