Cannot read CD or DVD from my DVD RW drive.

I recently reinstalled WIndows XP home, as it crashed. I formatted the hard
disk and reinstalled windows xp. Since then my DVD drive is not reading any
data CD or program CD from it. I am able to read CD's with MP3 files or play
DVD's but not other CD's.
I get the following error message:

Windows cannot read from this disk. The disk might be corrupted, or it could
be using a format that is not compatible with Windows.

Is there any fix for this?

I tried reinstalling the driver, and other things that norammlly one can
expect, but it doesn't seem to work!

Thanks,
Suku

What program did you originally use to burn those dvd/cd....?????
XP does not have DVD burning capabilities build in..therefore you used
another program

I used Roxio CD creator. But the point is I am not able to read any program
install disks from any software vendor like Roxio or Microsoft office and so
on. Also I am not able to burn the CD using Windows media palyer.
Thanks,
