cannot play DVDs with XP Pro

My daughter has XP home on her new notebook and she can play DVDs, I have XP Pro (legit
version) and have downloaded service pack 2. When I try to play DVDs (commercially
created) on my DVD drive, media player says to change res and colours. I do that and still
cannot play them. My husband has the same problems on his notebook which he recently
re-installed XP Pro. Before the re-install he could play DVDs.

What should I be looking for to download? It is a real pain!

Thanks

You need codecs to play DVD's, or a program like Cyberlink's PowerDVD that supplies the codec.

Do a Google search for "DVD Decoder Pak for Windows XP" or the filename "DVDPack.msi"

Here's one I found for you...
