Cannot open pivottable source file error

Hi,
when i try to create PivotTable report from worksheet stored in local drive
D: or removable disk (USB key), i get error message "cannot open pivottable
source file". Any solution? Thanks.

Where is the source file of the pivot table stored?

I suspect you have not taken that source at the same time as the
destination file with the pivot table. This could be another XL file, Access
file, or other database source (SQL, Oracle, etc, etc, etc.)

Hi,

Perhaps the excel file is damaged or something. If necessary, you may
try Advanced Excel Repair at http://www.datanumen.com/aer/ This tool
is rather useful in salvaging damaged Excel xls files.
