Just upgraded to office 2007 basic. When i try to open outlook I get the
following message "The command line argument is not valid. Verify the switch
you are using" What is this? I tried reinstalling outlook from the CD. Word
and Excel work fine

Annie,

Could you right click on the icon you are trying to use and go to Properties
and share what's on the Shortcut tab in the Target field?

Ah, I guess you're using the Outlook icon that is at the top of the Start
menu. Forgot that thing existed.

Now, if you're not using that (the easiest way to tell is a right click on
the menu would only show you Read e-mail, properties and remove from this
list), hollar back and we can try a few other things.

That said... I can't seem to get that to work with OL2k7 on *any* machine
I've tried it on. What you might want to do is this.

0) Verify that Outlook starts through Start - All Programs - Microsoft
Office - Microsoft Office Outlook.
1) Right click on Start. Go to Properties.
2) Customize Start menu.
3) Uncheck E-mail
4) Ok and Ok
5) Go to Start - All Programs - Microsoft Office, right click on Microsoft
Outlook and select Pin to start menu.

It isn't much more than a bandaid, but, it will (or should) work.

I just got it working. I didn't realize that when I upgraded I
needed to remove 2003 edition first.Excel and word upgraded without
removing the old program. Thanks for your time I appreciate it.

o_O You managed to have both Outlook 2003 and 2007 installed at the same
time on the same machine?
