Cannot open multiple IE browser windows

Hi -- I have IE 6, upgraded to XP Professional. I cannot open multiple
browser windows now. I have tried CTRL-N, file->new->window, right clicking
-> open in new window, clicking a million times on IE icon...NOTHING. The
browser window that is open will close and is replaced by a new one. This is
quite frustrating as I cannot go to some of my frequent sites because they
open up in multiple windows.

I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling...I have tried repair....I have run
Spybot and Ad-Aware...I've defragmented my hard drive...I've emptied my
cookies/temp folders. STILL. Nothing. Please helo!

Hi,
From IE> Tools> Internet Options> Advanced> Browsing> uncheck "Reuse windows
for launching shortcuts."

And... you may have a program running which is blocking pop-up windows-
something like Yahoo Companion, Google toolbar, MSN toolbar, a firewall,
Earthlink (or another pop-up blocker) My IE2 (a shell for IE) etc.
Yahoo Companion is a very common cause.

You'll have to turn off the feature that's blocking new windows or, perhaps,
uninstall the program.

With some programs of this type, using Ctrl+click or Shift+click will allow
a new window.

If you're *sure* that another program isn't causing this, these links may
help.

Hi, I had the exactly same problem as you do, and it was solved after I
reinstalled the IE. I am not sure what caused this problem but I found
it just after I installed "yahoo messenger" and a new PC game. I guess
it was either caused by "yahoo messenger" and its associated program or
an Adware.
