Cannot open default folders error

I am having difficulty with Outlook accounts being able to use the address
book and calendars - they can send and receive mail just fine. The error I
get is this -

Cannot open your default folders. YOu must connect to the microsoft
exchange server with the current profile before you can synchronzie your
folders with your offline folder file.

Would greatly appreciate any help

If you're really using an Exchange account, contact your IT people or Exchange
hoster. If you don't want an Exchange account, open the Mail applet in
Control Panel, click E-mail Accounts, remove the Exchange account and add the
kind you want.

What version of Outlook? Can they connect to the Exchange server? Do you
have Outlook Web Access available to test the mailbox?
