Cannot maximize a window

Lionel

I downloaded a program online on my desktop. When I click
the setup icon on my desktop in order to download the
actual program on my computer, the appearing window is
too small to see the Start button they want me to click
on. I cannot maximize this window since the maximize
button is grayed out. I can only minimize it or close it.
Any suggestion?
Thank you.

Sounds like a program you want to think twice about installing. If the
author can't even get the download screen right, who knows what else might
be wrong with it?

I do not think the program is responsible for that, but
rather a bug in my machine. I am trying to install Norton
Internet Security 2004, and never had a problem with
Symantec before.
Thank you for suggestions.

This seems more like a problem with the
program/programmer. If it is in the fixed state there
really is not much you can do as that is just the way it
was programmed. Sometimes this type of state can be very
appropriate in times, but if it gets to the point where
you cannot operate the program it is very unnecessary and
bothersome. If anything, I would contact the programmer
to have him look at it. Hope this helped.

It might be worth going to Control Panel - Display - Settings, click
Advanced and try reducing the number of Dots Per inch (DPI) to be
assumed. Some of these dialog windows (indeed that of Display itself)
are affected by this, and if the author's did not allow for the result
being seen at different DPI values you can lose items out of the panel

I had this same problem a month ago and this site provided
me with the solution.
Solution- Windows remembers the last position it was in.
Open screen, drag screen to largeer size, close screen.
When it's open again it will remember the last size.
I am no tech person and hoped that I explained it so that
you understand.

In that case, contact Symantec tech support.
