cannot logn into w2k after running Network ID Wizard

Hi,

I need some urgent HELP !!! And would appreciate ayone
who can provide assistance.
I cannot login to W2K using the regular or Administrator
ser and passwords.

After connecting a W2K computer to
PC <-> HUB <-> FIREWALL (pix) <-> ADSL modem, everything
was working fine.

There was another XP connected to this hub and both were
working on the internet fine, but they couldnt see each
other.

In an attempt to connect the two, I ran the Network ID
wizard from the network communication and was presented
with two options.

Option 1: "This computer is part of a business network,
and I use it to connect to other computers at work."

Option 2: "This computer is for home use and is not part
of a business network."

I selected Option 2, and a minute later - I was only
prompted to click Finish to restart the computer.

Since I restarted the computer, I have not been able to
login to Windows. I get a message that my user is
incorrect. I have tried both the regular and
Administrator users and passwords (which I DO rememebr
and did work before thsi Network ID wizard).

Is there some kind of default user/password I can use ?

Thanks,
Veger

Thats impossible. user names and admin passwords dont
change randomly..:)) NO, there is no any default user or
any default admin. Try remembering your user name and your
password. Check CAPS

You do not have a Domain Controller, therefore your simple two-machine
network is just a "Workgroup". So just make sure the workgroup names match
on both machines and that the "Personal Firewall" on XP is disabled. I
assume the Nic's Network Settings are still correct since the "wizard" would
not have bothered that.

Nevermind,...I misread the post.

I am not sure how I can do that.
The XP couldn't find the W2K in the first place. That is why I tried the Network ID wizard...

make sure that when you ran that wizard it didn't change
the network you are trying to log onto. It may have
created a new "home" network that has no user profiles
becuase they don't exist. Make sure you have a viable
option selected in the 'Log on to:' field in the login
window.
