Cannot login to AD Domain.

I have two servers on the same network i.e. 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.2
subnet 255.255.255.0. I can ping and see both servers in my network places
from each machine, but when I double click the Server B icon fro server A
(My Network Places) I enter the username and password for server b, but it
will not let me logon. It gives a message that user name or password is
wrong. If I do the same procedure from server B I can log in to server B
without a problem. Each machine has AD and DNS installed, but there are no
trusts or anything setup. Can anybody shed a light on this.

.
Dave,

Are both servers Domain Controllers? On what are you
clicking? What do you mean by "log in to Server B"? From
what machine - from Server A? or from a workstation?

Install the Support Tools on all of your Servers. Run
DCDAIG /V on all Domain Controllers and run NETDIAG /FIX
on all servers. Also, if both of the Servers are Domain
Controllers try running REPADMIN /showreps. To install
the Support Tools take the WIN2000 Server CD ( or better
yet, the WIN2000 Service Pack CD ) and navigate to Support
\ Tools.

Cary

The exact procedure that I am making is on server A in my network places I
double click on entire network I then double click on Microsoft Windows
Network. Inside there I have to icon one for Server A and one for server B.
If I double click on server B icon I get a prompt to enter user name and
password. After clicking on ok button it tells me in is incorrect password
or unknown user name. If I do the same from Server B, but double click
Server A icon it lets me view the contents of server A which is fine. I can
ping each device i.e Server a can ping server B and Server B can ping server
A. Hope this explains it better.

Problem solved! There must have been something wrong. After uninstalling and
installing AD again it works fine.
