The /cleanreminders switch does change the
characteristics of the problem but doesn't fix it. When I
use it, I get the error and a reminder window with
reminders in it. If I then exit a relaunch Outlook as
normal, I only get the error. I tried deleting all of the
reminders or moving them into the future as a test, but
the error still appears. This machine does have a
Blackberry PDA attached. What is the impact of that?

I have a couple of ideas- first, have you tried starting Outlook one time
with the /cleanreminders switch?
Start=>Run=>outlook.exe /cleanreminders
The second thought is are you using a PDA to synch between the PDA and
desktop?
