cannot identify network

Im running vista in my dorm room. I first had a wireless network set up but then I had to take it down because its against school policy. Now the internet has two jacks in the wall and the jack the router was connected to now does not work on any computer that was connected to the wireless network. Its says the problem is that windows cannot identify the network to connect to. My computer works perfectly in the jack right beside the bad one. My other roomates computer works in the jack but he was never connected to the wireless. Any suggestions will be helpful.
Thanks,
Tom

Call your school's tech support and ask them to reset the port (for the
"bad" jack) on their router. If there are any identifying tags on the jacks,
reference the "bad" jack.
