Cannot get XP pro setup to work

I just built a new PC, athlon 2400 512MB ram, mobo is a Syntax K7SV266AD, but when I go to boot from the windows CD to install it, it get to where it start initializing the setup, says "Setup is loading files (Windows Executive)... and stays there, does nothing else, other times it will load all those files then say "Setup is loading windows...." and stay there, a few times I have gotten stop errors, one was PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA, the other was 0x0000007E and some kind of error with ACPI.SYS. I have tried this with 3 different copies of windows XP and each does the same thing. Please help. Thanks.
