Cannot find the second partition

Hi

Trying to install win xp Pro

I have one physical HD that I partitioned into two C (40 GB) and D (239
Gb)
But when i come to "Select partition to install Windows XP into"
window, it only finds the one big HD.

Is there somthing missing on the cd?

Tried to add WINNT.SIF (Autopartition = 0) without any luck

Did you mark both as being active?
how did you partition them, using what utility?
did you make them basic or dynamic

?

They are both bacic, I am alomst sure that I partition with Computer
Management Console. The active menu is "ghosted", and it is only
"visible" on c partition.

I had borrowed a friend version of xp, and it find both partition. This
leads me to think that somthing is missing on the cd, but im not sure.
