cannot find driver for Hitachi DVD ROM GD 2500

I have an IBM Aptiva Pentium III. I upgraded to XP home
edition. I have lost function for DVD drive, HITACHI GD
2500 and CD Sony CD RW CRX 100E CD burner. Cannot find
drivers. THE DRIVERS NOT ON WINDOWS UPDATE. Getting the
run around from MS, IBM and Hitachi ! Does anyone know
where I can go?

Did you run Microsoft's compatibility software before you upgraded to see
what of your stuff would be supported..?

But for starters I would delete the entries for the DVD and CD from the
device manager and reboot to let windows install fresh drivers. It might be
that they are not supported by the drives manufacture. You could also go to
each devices web site and check for xp drivers.
