"Cannot find address"

A

Andy

Everytime I type in a web address (for
example "google.com") I get a beep and the following
message:

"Cannot find 'google.com'. Make sure path or Internet
address is correct"

This happens for every webpage I type in - I can only get
web pages to load by typing 'http://www.webpagename.com'.

Why is this happening and how do I fix?

Courtesy from Jorge. I had the manual way but this is simple and doesn't
hurt.

Maybe this registry patch can help:

http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/RepairDefaultPrefix.reg
Repairs the corrupted or altered (spyware) HTTP prefixes

Download, right click and merge.

hope this helps
You may want to download Adaware (with updates). SpywareBlaster and some
kind of registry monitor.
You may want to look at this site if you haven't already. It is a necessity
to have these free monitoring programs these days.
