Cannot enter text in Text Boxes

Running XPSP1 and IE6 with all updates. When I first launch IE (Yahoo is my
homepage) I can type in the text entry box that's used for searches. If I
navigate back to that page (from another), however, mouse clicking on the
text entry box does not show the blinking cursor, and I cannot enter text
into the box without Alt-Shifting back into it. Once that happens, other
pages like Google show the same problem. It only goes away if I dismiss IE
and restart. I can't remember when this started happening, but it has to be
within the last few months.

And while I appreciate the normal recommendations, I already did the AV,
CWShredder, AdAware, SpyBot, HijackThis routine, and whatever else is on

http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm

and yes, with updated definition files. None of them did a thing to help.

Er, no one has yet answered my post there. Guess I wasn't clear about that
part. Sorry.

But you cannot "Bump" you thread, this will bring it back to the front of
the list as if it was a new problem.

What is your thread number I will have a look at it.
E-mail address on my Home page.

I didn't think this could be done in XP. Could you explain how to repair IE
in XP Pro?

I will check Java, but I'm currently running v1.4.2_03.
