cannot download through ISDN or ADSL but mobile phone (GPRS) is fine.

W2k. IE6 Recently noticed that I cannot download files from SOME websites
using my normal ADSL connection. Browsing is fine. Connecting through my
mobile phone works fine. Just my ADSL won't download from some websites,
well, most. Cannot download when I am in the office (though our ISDN), but
CAN still use Vodafone mobile phone (GPRS). Can also download files to
another pc on office LAN through the ISDN, so I know the ISDN is fine.

I uploaded (ftp) a .exe and a .wav to my own Internet space and can
download the .wav but not the .exe

Tried getting files from Symantec, WinZip, various at Download.com. IE error
message is:

'Internet Explorer cannot download ******.exe from
******** Explorer was not able to open the Internet site. The requested
site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later.'

Mobile phone connection is made through some Vodafone software. ADSL through
USB modem. ISDN through LAN. Is it significant that the GPRS connection is
not through a 'Network and Dial-up' connection?

Have looked really hard to find the answer to this, but found nothing. Any
help is appreciated.
