Cannot Disable "Allow incoming echo request" in Windows Firewall

After installing XP SP2, I was reviewing the settings for the Windows
Firewall. For each of the individual connections, I am able to uncheck
"Allow incoming echo request" however, on the ICMP Settings, I am unable to
uncheck it and it is greyed out. What is the explanation here? Thanks!

Cannot disable Allow incoming echo request

The File and Print Sharing exception enables this on my XPsp2 system. If I disable File and Print Sharing by unchecking it in the Exceptions page of Windows Firewall, the Allow Incoming ICMP echo request becomes unchecked. Also, the same thing occurs if I can just disable port 445 after clicking the Edit button of the File and Print Sharing exception, while still leaving the File and Print sharing exception enabled.
