Cannot delete file, not found

S

Scott Stanton

There is a file "search[1]." on my system under the
Temporary Internet Files directory that I can see in a
directory listing, but there seems to be no way to
actually remove it. I appear to have all the necessary
permissions to delete the file, no one is using it, but
the system reports "Could Not Find" when I try to del the
file. I have run scandisk and nothing showed up
corrupted in the directory tables.

The only thing I have been able to find that sounds even
remotely like this is KB# 821412, which talks about a
specific fix that Microsoft will only give out if you
call their fee-based help line. Arg!

Before I jump through the hoops to see if this will fix
my problem, I thought I'd ask if anyone else has seen
this and if you managed to fix the problem.
