cannot create contacts group

Paul

I could create Contact Group for a number of email addresses for sending
email in Windows Mail before.
Now I don't why recently happened.
Seems that my Contact folder has been put onto the desktop and I no longer
could create Contact Group.
Any helps.

Paul, I am having a lot of problems with mail in Vista too. Thank Goodness
for my Linux Susie Machine, I have yet to be impressed spending a wad of
cash for Vista Ultimate. So far, I am more disappinted than with Windows ME.

We have no choice but to use vista instead of xp when we buy new laptop.
fact is I now have to be patient and wait more minutes to bring me to the
vista desktop.
XP is the best and much faster.
Go back to my problem now:
How could I create contacts group now that my Contact folder in Windows Mail
likely merged into Outlook.
I could read this Contact Folder even from my File Explorer too.
How could I create contact group from this folder?
Thanks for help.

When you open Contacts, there should be buttons for New Contact, New Contact
Group, Import and Export.

If you don't have these, Vista has probably changed the folder template.

Right-click on a blank area of the right pane, and select "Customize this
folder"
in the pull-down box, select "Contacts"
ok

Dave,
Thank you. It works after your steps followed.
You are right.
My vista changed the Contact folder template I don't know maybe by accident.
Thanks again.

Thank you Dave, I couldn't figure out what happened to my Contacts folder. It
would open, but I didn't have the ability to add new contacts group,
import..these were all missing.
I created them all in another notebook with XP and then copied into the
contacts folder notebook with Vista, but it was too much work. I thought I
had somehow deleted the "Contacts" folder. Thanks again!

Can I add a 'Thank You' as well? My Buttons mysteriously disappeared
and I was lost in how to get them back.

Merry Christmas, everyone.

Not working on my PC with Vista...What right panel are you talking
about....the one in the email it self or the one in the contact box.

Let me say THANK YOU to Dave as well! Thought I was stupid cause I could not
create a group til I read this. I found my contact group by going to the
start button, then All Programs then clicking on Windows Contacts - then I
changed the view to be small icons then scrolled to the bottom and right
clicked on an empty space and followed Dave's instructions and walah! Txuj -
maybe this way will be easier for you to find the empty space you need to
click on.
