cannot copy folder to new drive: error... cannot copy file

Please help, I need to reload Windows XP and have moved
all my files to an external hard drive except one. It
says "Error copying file or folder, cannot copy file". I
have tried changing permissions by going into safe mode
and file sharing properties in regular mode. I have even
reloaded internet explorer as this has helped with copy
and paste issues in the past. This time it has me stumped.

What is the file name ??? Total

The file name is one that I created called "work folder".
I can open all of the files inside but cannot resave them
or move them either.
