cannot copy audio cd to hard drive

R

Rob Seelen

When I try to copy an audio cd to my hard drive, windows
media player starts copying, but then it tells
me "windows media player has encountered an unknown
error". It then tries to copy the next track and the same
thing happens. This only seems to happen on some cd's.
Could they be copy protected? These are actual music cd's
that I have purchased. I am able to use another player to
copy the tracks to my comuter, but I can't do it with
windows media player. I have checked media player and it
is the current version and is up to date. My computer is
also set to use windows media player as the default
player. Thanks.

If youre copying cd tracks to youre computer, how could
wmp be the default device.Open tools, options,in wmp.
Look at the file types tab,all boxes need to be checked
for wmp to be set as default.Copywrited cds should be
the easiest to load in wmp because you have the cd from
the mfg.along with a license wmp gets for you.You might
also check the box that lets wmp connect to the internet
and retrieve media info.

Use CDex instead, and avoid the headaches associated with WMP.
