hi

i have a LAN to LAN Vpn setup between our two corporate
offices. i have installed terminal services on the pdc in
one end of the lan. i have the remote desktop connection
installed on my local system. the ports necessary for
access using terminal services are open. however when i
open the RDC client on my machine and type the Ip address
192.168.x.x which is the other corporate LAN, a black
screen appears and the login box does not. Why is this
occuring and could someone please help me solive this
problem. No sessions are running on the server and the
service is running. The server is a Win2000 server, this
terminal services server is installed in remote
administration mode.

thanks

the address range 192.168.x.x is private ip addressing
and is not routable. You need a dual homed box on your
Terminal Server side(one with the internal network
address, and one with the WAN side connection) it is the
wan side connection that you RDP to. Then let that box
pass along to your 192.168.x.x terminal server through
port 3389.
