Cannot connect to TS (2003 server)

Hello All

I just received a Windows2003 Standard Server and am trying to connect a Win2000 and XP client. The error is - There are no Terminal Server License Servers to provide a license-. I understood that I would not need a License Server until after the 120 Eval period ended. Also, the logs from the Event Viewer start at 8/3/03. Will I now need to buy a License Server for clients to connect
FYI - We did order licenses (W2003 CAL per user) and (W2003 TERM CAL PER USER)

Thanks for any hel

Did this server come with everything pre-installed? I've no other
explanation for why the logs start in 2003 and the grace period
has already ended.
But anyway, good installation of a TS Licensing Server is
completely free! Just go to Control Panel - Add/Remove programs -
Add Windows Component and install from there.
Since you have already ordered TS CALs, there's no real harm done.

Note: since you have ordered "Per User" TS CALs, make sure that
the Terminal Server (not the Licensing Server!) is set to use "Per
User" licensing. The default is "Per Device".
You can check this from Administrative Tools - Terminal Services
Configuration - Server Settings
If it's set to Per Device mode, it will look for a Device TS CAL
and will not issue your Per User TS CALs.

Check this article, it explains that even after you have
switched licensing mode on the TS, your Per User TS CAL count will
not be decremented:
