Cannot connect to Terminal Services License

Hi All

Having problems with users not able to connect to Citrix. Looked at the evenlog for the server which has the Terminal Services License Server installed and the following was displayed:

"Terminal Services Licensing can only be run on Domain Controllers or Server in a Workgroup - event ID 29"

This server used to be DC but was demoted, I tired to promote the server to a DC using dcpromo but got a error message through the process to state the diskspace is to small. The C:is 2GB and D: 29GB

I went to Admin Tools\Terminal Services Licensing and tried to connect but got "No Terminal Services license server is available in the current domain or workgroup. To connect to another license server, click License, click Connect, and then type the server name.

Do I need to:

Reinstall the Terminal Services Licensing under Add/Remove Window Componets on this server
Will this have a effect on the current remote users able to connect via Citrix

Or:
Install Terminal Services Licensing on a different server that is a D
Again will this have a effect on the current remote users who are able to connect to via Citrix

I would really apperciate your help and feedbac

Thanks guys

What is above or below depends on the sorting order in the individual
newsgroup users interfaces. Since you are posting from an anonymous
account and have not set a personal name, there's no way of knowing
which of the posts is your previous post.

Since a W2K TS Licensing Server must run on a Domain Controller,
you should install the LS on one of your DCs.
This should not have an impact on your current users. Those
clients that have a valid license at the moment will continue to
use that, until it expires. 7 days before their license expires,
the TS will try to renew the clients license with a Licensing
Server. So the sooner you get a new LS up and running, the better
it will be.

You may have to use the telephone method and contact the
Clearinghouse to get your unused licenses re-issued.
Check the "How do I move my licenses from one server to another"
Q&A in the Microsofts Terminal Services FAQ at

nal/terminal_faq.asp
